Surah 2. Al-Baqara, Ayah 50
| وَإِذْ فَرَقْنَا بِكُمُ الْبَحْرَ فَأَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْظُرُونَ |
| Transliteration | : | wa- 'idh faraqnaa bi- -kum al- bah.r fa- anjaynaa -kum wa- aghraqnaa 'aal fircawn wa- 'antum tanz.uron |
| Pickthall | : | And when We brought you through the sea and rescued you, and drowned the folk of Pharaoh in your sight. |
| Asad | : | and when We cleft the sea before you, and thus saved you and caused Pharaoh's people to drown before your very eyes; |
| Malik | : | And We parted the Red Sea for you, taking you to safety, and drowned Fir'on's people before your very eyes. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | And remember We divided the sea for you and saved you and drowned Pharaoh's people within your very sight. 65 |
Note - 65When the Israelites at last escaped from Egypt, they were
pursued by Pharaoh and his host. By a miracle the
Israelites crossed the Red Sea, but the host of Pharaoh
was drowned: Exod. xiv. 5-31.
