Surah 3. Al-i'Imran, Ayah 53
| رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ |
| Transliteration | : | rabb -naa 'aamannaa bi- maa anzalta wa- ittabacnaa ar- rasol fa- uktub -naa maca ash- shaahiden |
| Pickthall | : | Our Lord! We believe in that which Thou hast revealed and we follow him whom Thou hast sent. Enroll us among those who witness (to the truth). |
| Asad | : | 0 our Sustainer! We believe in what Thou hast bestowed from on high, and we follow this Apostle; make us one,43 then, with all who bear witness [to the truth]!" |
| Malik | : | Then they invoked Allah and said): "Our Rabb! We believe in what you have revealed and we follow Your Rasool. Please count us with those who bear witness." |
| Yusuf Ali | : | "Our Lord! we believe in what thou hast revealed and we follow the Apostle; then write us down among those who bear witness." |
Note - 43Lit., "write us down" or "inscribe us". It must, however,
be borne in mind that the verb kataba means also "he drew
together" or "brought together": hence the noun katibah,
"a body of men".
