Surah 6. Al-An'am, Ayah 10
| وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ |
| Asad | : | And, indeed, [even] before thy time have apostles been derided - but those who scoffed at them were [in the end] overwhelmed by the very thing which they were wont to deride.9 |
| Malik | : | O Muhammad many Rasools before you were also ridiculed, but in the long run those who ridiculed were hemmed in by the very thing they were ridiculing. |
| Pickthall | : | Messengers (of Allah) have been derided before thee, but that whereat they scoffed surrounded such of them as did deride. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | Mocked were (many) Apostles before thee; but the scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 843 |
| Transliteration | : | wa- la- qad istuhzi' bi- rusul min qabli -ka fa- h.aaqa bi- 'alladhena sakhiro min -hum maa kaano bi- -hi yastahzi'on |
