Surah 60. Al-Mumtahana, Ayah 9

Transliteration : 'inna-maa yanhaa -kum 'allaah can 'alladhena qaatalo -kum fe ad- den wa- akhrajo -kum min diyaar -kum wa- z.aaharo calaa ikhraaj -kum 'an tawallaw -hum wa- man yatawalla -hum fa- 'olaa'ika hum az.- z.aalimon
Pickthall : Allah forbiddeth you only those who warred against you on account of religion and have driven you out from your homes and helped to drive you out, that ye make friends of them. Whosoever maketh friends of them--(All) such are wrong doers.
Asad : God only forbids you to turn in friendship towards such as fight against you because of [your] faith, and drive you forth from your homelands, or aid [others] in driving you forth and as for those [from among you] who turn towards them in friendship, it is they, they who are truly wrongdoers!
Malik : Allah only forbids you to make friendship with those who fought you on account of your faith and drove you out of your homes and backed up others in your expulsion. Those who will take them for friends are indeed the wrongdoers.
Yusuf Ali : Allah only forbids you with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith and drive you out of your homes and support (others) in driving you out from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances) that do wrong.
