Surah 63. Al-Munafiqun, Ayah 8
| يَقُولُونَ لَئِنْ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ ۚ وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَٰكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration | : | yaqolon la- 'in rajacnaa 'ilaa al- madenah la- yukhrijanna al- acazz min -haa al- adhall wa- li- 'allaah al- cizzah wa- li- rasol -hi wa- li- al- mu'minen wa- laakin al- munaafiqen laa yaclamon |
| Pickthall | : | They say: Surely, if we return to Al Madinah the mightier will soon drive out the weaker; when might belongeth to Allah and to His messenger and the believers; but the hypocrites know not. |
| Asad | : | [And] they say, "Indeed, when we return to the City,10 [we,] the ones most worthy of honour, will surely drive out therefrom those most contemptible ones!" However, all honour belongs to God, and [thus] to His Apostle and those who believe [in God]: but of this the hypocrites are not aware.11 |
| Malik | : | They say: "When we return to Madinah, the honorable ones will soon drive out the mean ones." But the honor belongs to Allah, to His Rasool and to the believers; but the hypocrites do not know. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | They say "If we return to Madinah surely the more honorable (element) will expel there from the meaner." But honor belongs to Allah and His Apostle and to the Believers; but the Hypocrites know not. 5475 |
