Surah 9. At-Tauba, Ayah 18
| إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ فَعَسَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ |
| Transliteration | : | 'inna-maa yacmur masaajid 'allaah man 'aamana bi- 'allaah wa- al- yawm al- 'aakhir wa- aqaama as.- s.alaah wa- 'aataa az- zakaah wa- lam yakhsha 'illaa 'allaah fa- casaa 'olaa'ika 'an yakono min al- muhtaden |
| Pickthall | : | He only shall tend Allah's sanctuaries who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor due and feareth none save Allah. For such (only) is it possible that they can be of the rightly guided. |
| Asad | : | Only he should visit or tend God's houses of worship who believes in God and the Last Day, and is constant in prayer, and spends in charity, and stands in awe of none but God: for [only such as] these may hope to be among the right guided!28 |
| Malik | : | The mosques of Allah should be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish Salah (prayers), and pay Zakah (poor due) and fear none except Allah. It is they who are expected to follow the true guidance. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day establish regular prayers and practice regular charity and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. 1267 1268 |
